Saddles
We stock all of the major English brands and we also have our own hand-made range. We offer a full repair and renovation service which is an easy cost effective way of keeping your saddles in 'tip top' condition.
Our hand made 'made-to-measure' saddles are made to fit the horse and you perfectly as they are custom made to your specifications.
We also have the 'Acorn' own brand range which combines outstanding quality with great value-for-money.
We have been fitting saddles now for over 22 years. Upon your initial enquiry we talk you through your requirements and you can then decide whether you come to us and make use of our arena, or we can come to you.

Bridlework
We design and make our own range of bridlework and can even provide a bridle with the added comfort around the horse's poll and ears, using a padded headpiece. These headpieces can be made individually to each horse and are therefore as good a fit as possible.
We only use best quality English bridle leather from J&E Sedgwick or Bakers of Colyton. Our standard fittings are stainless steel manufactured in England and are individually quality checked before use. Our brass fittings are of the best quality brass available.
Unlike the mass-produced bridles, all our work is hand stitched (apart from the rubbers on rubber grip reins), and is stitched in a synthetic/linen mix thread which helps to give the bridlework a longer life.
We take great care in selecting the right part of the hide for the most appropriate use e.g. the reins, cheek pieces and headpiece and are cut out of the best part of the hide.
Our thicker, heavier leather used for stirrup leathers and any harness work undertaken is derived from Bakers in Colyton, Devon. They are one of the last tanneries still tanning leather in the traditional way, which takes about 15 months from raw cowhide to the finished product, which we consider adds to the product's durability in all weathers.

Hunting Accessories
| Acorn Saddlery is situated in the heart of the hunting community and we supply hunting accessories to over 10 packs of hounds. We supply leather covered hunting whips with stag horn handles, complete with thongs (available in white or brown). Shooting Accessories & Cartridge Bags
Our ever-popular Exmoor Fast Loader is still one of our most popular stock items. This is available in brown or burgundy in two sizes and offers that 'quick to load' facility.
We also make the traditional solid cartridge bag in bridle leather, which is available in tan or brown and in two sizes, Ladies'/Gent's. Our luxury Gunslips are cut and made on the premises, providing the perfect addition to any of our range of Cartridge bags, Cartridge Belts etc. These Gunslips are sheepskin-lined and finished using heavy brass fittings for longevity. The leather Gunslips are available in assorted colours and three styles:- Single full zip Gunslip; Single full zip Gunslip with flap and Double Gunslip.
Leather Cartridge Bags
The Exmoor Fast Loader is our best selling cartridge bag. It has been designed in conjunction with local shooters over the last 15 years.
Hand made here in our own workshop from soft, supple, yet hard-wearing leather. Lined with proofed fabric for weather protection. Front flap folds back, making access to cartridges quick and easy. On the front of the cartridge bag there are three rows of five double pockets which gives the bag a capacity to hold in the region of 125 or 150 cartridges (approx.), depending on which size bag you select. Cartridges are easily accessible when speed is of the essence.
Solid brass fittings are used in the bag's construction, making it both stylish and highly serviceable
The shoulder strap is made from strong military web and is fully adjustable, making it possible for a comfortable fit whilst out in the field.
Initials can be embossed and sewn on to the front flap making identification of your bag easy! (An extra cost is incurred for this service)
